Connecting Like Family

Team wins regionals, makes state appearance

With the support of the school riding behind them, the volleyball girls headed off to state in hope of a big win.

“It was such an accomplishment for all of us. We all had so much pride. It’s nice being respected also,” Kenzy Hammons, 11, said.

They won regionals at home on Oct. 7 with a record of 27 to 8.

On the court or off, the bond among the team was strong.

“We have created the closest family I have ever had. We will do anything for each other. They truly are my sisters. Being my senior year, I hate to break that wonderful connection and move onto college,” said Sarah Littlejohn, 12.

Whether they were starting their freshman year or ending their senior year, the girls felt they had an amazing season.

“Next year I hope to go back to state because it was really fun and being number one in 5A,” said Alyson Hart, 9.

As seniors celebrated their last season they set the standards high for next year’s team.
